Common questions
Is unlocking PDFs legal?+
Yes, for PDFs you own or have permission to access. You must know the password — this tool does not crack passwords. It simply removes restrictions from documents you can already open.
Do I need the password?+
Yes. You must enter the correct password to unlock the PDF. This tool removes restrictions, it does not recover lost passwords.
What restrictions are removed?+
Printing, copying, editing, and signing restrictions are removed. For user-password protected files, pages are re-rendered into a clean PDF.
Will the output look the same?+
For owner-restricted PDFs, the output is identical (lossless). For user-password PDFs, pages are re-rendered as images so text is no longer selectable but visually identical.
